Two Trees Barbell Club

West Coast Strength and Conditioning is Ventura’s first USA Weightlifting certified gym! Two Trees Barbell Club will operate under the umbrella of Crossfit Ventura, allowing us to provide even more opportunities for the members of our community.

Our mission is to create a safe and intelligent place for athletes to learn to lift. Our main goal is to promote quality movement with an emphasis on technique inside the gym that transfers to life outside of the gym. We will also be producing online content that will help you not only with your olympic lifts, but also with CrossFit and other activities outside of the gym.

We’ve offered the Olympic Lifting Class for quite some time now, and it has become more and more popular. The Two Trees Barbell Club is a natural progression for this class to take.

Who can join?

Open to any member of CrossFit Ventura, if you are not a member and would like to join we offer a 10 visit punch card that you can use for Olympic Lifting class.

If you want to learn more about the lifts, refine your technique, or if you’re chasing that PR, this is a great setting for you! With technical teaching and training of both Olympic lifts and accessory movements, athletes will gain confidence and strength not only for Olympic Lifting, but also for CrossFit or any other athletic endeavor. Furthermore, if you want to participate in an Olympic Lifting Meet, we will help you with prep, and coach you on the day of the meet.

What changes will there be to the current Olympic Lifting Class?
Our Olympic Lifting classes are 1 hour and 30 minutes long.

Our class structure:

-Warm up: 15 mins

-Skill transfer exercises: 10-15 mins

-Snatch work: 20-25 mins

-Clean and jerk work: 20-25 mins

-Squat work (remaining time): 10-15 mins

There will also be more time devoted to focused mobility work to help prep your body for the specific demands of the lifts.

If you are unable to attend the Olympic Lifting classes (which are currently offered on Wednesdays @6:30-8pm, and Sundays @11:00am-12:30pm), talk to one of the coaches about other resources that are available to help you improve your Olympic Lifts.
