Mike Harding got 120 reps

written by Colin Jenkins

First off, congratulations to everyone to gave their all this weekend on the first CrossFit Open workout. 7 minutes of burpees is a brutal test, and it was amazing to see everyone push hard and give it their all.

Some highlights:

- 13 WCSC athletes completed over 100 reps!

- Over 4000 burpees were done at WCSC over the weekend.

- Craig did the workout 2 times in the same day!. He completed 117 reps at 10am the morning. He wasn’t happy with his pacing. He came in at 7pm with better strategy and was able to get 119 reps! Very inspiring to see!!

- Jaala completed 116 reps, which the 386th best score in the world….out of 20,000 women!!!

- Dan the “Pizza-Man” got 109 reps, which is 109th place in the masters division of over 1,500 athletes.

what were some highlights for you?

One of the highlights for me,was everyone coming together and cheering for each other. It’s nice to see that type of community in a gym. The gyms that I came from in D.C. did not really have that type of atmosphere, so it is refreshing to see it.

1 sectionals WOD done, 4 more to go. It will be interesting to see what comes out on Wednesday for WOD 2

I agree with Chris. It is amazing to have so many people around and cheering while doing the sectionals workouts! Though Chris and I did the sectionals WODs together in Afghanistan last year, it is really nice to be doing them here, together, at WCSC, this year!

I LOVE Sectionals time. The energy and atmosphere at the gym is like no other. It’s electric! (Boogie woogie woogie)

It’s great to see all different people come together for the same purpose. Even if that purpose is to totally get destroyed. :) . Great team!
