Training Cycles

IMG_3509

How many times do you workout a week?

What type of work-to-rest training cycle are you currently following?

How long have you been able to stay consistent with this work-to-rest ratio?

Please post your answers to these three questions. The information will help us all!

(Example: Workout 4 days a week. 2 days on 1 day off + 2 days on 2 days off. Have followed this type of training cycle for close to 10 weeks)

    20:10 (Rope Climb Mod)
The last month my schedule has been pretty messed up and random. But this week I will be returning to Sat-Sun-Mon and Wed-Thursday. With a Double on Thursdays. Seems to work really well for me. Prior to that I was doing 3 on 1 off and after a while it started to where on me.

These are the days/times I train when I don’t have plans.
    Sun: 10am class
Mon: too early (wish there was an 8am class)
    Tues: 8am class
Wed: too early (wish there was an 8am class)
    Thurs: 8am class
Fri: too early (wish there was an 8am class)
    Sat: 10am class
I would like to train 2 on 1 off but 7am is too early for me.

WOD 25:47 Bar dips w/band, 20# DB, mod rope climb.
This WOD killed me ! My rt. wrist was not working today.
I workout Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, sometimes 1 time over weekend. I shoot for 4 days.

WOD: 29:?? ( skinny green pull ups, 16″ box, blue band dips, knees to pits, 15# DB, 35# KBS, 1 rope climb & 2 mod climbs, 10 # WB to 9 ft)
    I workout 4 days a week, 1 on 1 off, then 2 on 1 off
I’ve been doing this for about 9 months, this seems to work for me I need the recovery time.

28:10 (24″ step-ups, one-leg double under attempts, skinny green band bar dips, 35# KBS, 20# cleans, 33# good mornings, 14# to 10 ft throws)
I really really really want to do my bar dips without a band. It’d be slower but I want to do it. And sorry guys for almost making you all do burpees….
When I stay put for awhile I usually workout 5 days a week. It varies a lot, but I try to only workout 3 days in a row and take a rest day. Sometimes (Colin, you’re going to get mad) I’ll workout 4 days in a row. I would really like to have my schedule be: Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri, and a day on the weekend.

    WOD: 25:51
All Rx’d but ring dips…I did bar dips. This was my first time ever doing 53# KBS and I was pretty proud to be able to do it :) and surprised!
I workout 6 times a week. Sometimes 4 on 1 off, sometimes 5 on 1 off. This works for me. I do listen to my body though and if I know I am feeling a little tired I’ll go 3 and 1…but almost always six days a week total.

Oh, and I have been doing this for seven months consistently minus last week. After the competition I took a week off (well, kind of, I went three times).

4-5 times/week, generally 3 on, 1 off and 2 on 1 off. Have learned to tune in a bit more and determine if I need extra rest I will take it. Along with yoga and/or pilates 2-4/week; schedule for about 6 months.
26:58 tough one! Ring dips w/skinny green band, knees to pits, 35# KBS(I picked up the 53# and could barely do 2!), 14# to 8′, modified rope climbs. I must have misread the board as I did 25 DU and 30 knees to pits. And many re-dos on dips, few on pull-ups and wall-balls as I didn’t feel they were legit.

    15 Double Under attempts
20 Ring Dips (blue band on parallels)

That looks like a challenging but fun WOD!
I usually workout 5 days – 3 on 1 off, 2 on 1 off. I’ve been following this schedule since January, with a few breaks. I’m finding adding rest days here and there helps me mentally and physically.

I had a pretty consistent schedule until I started my new job. Because of my work schedule I’ve been CrossFitting: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday(depending on how I feel), and Sunday. I’ve been doing that for about 2 months. It’s not my preferred schedule, but we don’t always get to do what we want.

    I work out only 3 days a week(m,w,f)
Would love to fit one more day in.

My work schedule recent changed forcing my workout scheudle to change. I am able to go Sat., Sun., and Wed. Since I have been on this schedule my progress has slowed down alot. I would prefer to go Fri., Sat., Sun., Tues., Wed. Being able to go 2-3 days in a row was really effective for me with a 1 day rest in between.

I try to work out on mon, wed fri, sat and sun. Sometimes I’ll rotate a sun for mon wods. I usually end up in the gym 4 days a week. I’m trying for five but still adjusting/working towards it. My strategy is to go whenever I can because I have limited availability. I wish we had more 6:30pm classes!! That would be awesome!
